UNE SUIVANTE d'HÉBÉ - Debut
Young soprano EKATERINA SOLUNYA started her education in singing with Prof. Irina Trusova at the Musikschule Omsk (Sibiria).
She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in the class of Elena Obolenskaya at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, and completed her education in masterclasses with a.o. Evamaria Wieser, Veronica Dzhioeva, Stefan Rehm, Yuly Khomenko, Rusanna Lisizian, Galina Pisorenko and with Yuly Khomenko in Vienna, and decided after this masterclass to make her Master's Studies at the Musik- und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien, working with Prof. Michail Lanskoi.
Directly after her studies, she was called as member of the Opera-Studio at Oper Graz where she performed the parts of NINON in Anton Foerster's "Gorenjski slavček", MRS. HARPER in Kurt Weill's "Tom Sawyer", KAMMERFRAU der LADY in Verdi's "Macbeth", EIN JUNGER HIRT in Wagner's "Tannhäuser", CLORINDA in Rossini's "La Cenerentola" (also transmitted at Austrian TV ORF II.), ASCAGNE in Berlioz's "Les Troyens", DESPINA in Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte"; and with overwhelming success and international critically acclaim TATYANA in Britten's "A Midsummernight's Dream".
Since the 25/26 season, Ekaterina Solunya is a full member of the Ensemble at Oper Graz, where she will make her debuts as ILIA in Mozart's "Idomeneo", GILDA in Verdi's "Rigoletto" and UNE SUIVANTE d'HÉBÉ in "Castor & Pollux".
Next to the already mentioned parts, Mrs Solunya embodied in Conservatory-productions TATYANA in Caikovsky's "Jewgenji Onegin". MIMÍ in Puccini's "La Bohéme", PARASHA in Stravinsky's "Mavra" and HERMIA in "A Midsummernight's Dream".
Furthermore, she created the SOPRANO-PART in the 2022 world-Road-Opera "Vanessa geht zu den Walen" by Ferry Janoska, with the Libretto by Peter Wagner; and sang on a Russia-wide Concert tour with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
Ekaterina Solunya is a winner and prize-winner at numerous competition, Bravo Voice Vocal Competition, the Nataja Spiller Competition for Russian Music, the VIII. Regional Competition ‘Orchestra Soloist’, the 47th All-Russian Vocalists Competition, the 1st International Competition for Young Opera Singers or the Voices of Priirtyshye Song Contest.
